Windham, Connecticut is a town in Connecticut that contains the city suburb of Willimantic. Windham CT is located in the county of the same name (Windham County). In addition to this, it also contains the boroughs of Windham Center, North Windham, and South Windham. The town was named Windham in 1692. 

The center of activity moved to Willimantic in the 19th century. Slowly but surely, factories started to develop in the region. Willimantic became a city in 1893. It was then consolidated into the town of Windham in 1983.

The 2000 census stated that there were 22,857 people, 8,342 households and 5,088 families in the region of Windham. The population density was found to be 844.4 people per square mile and 8,926 housing units were found in the region. 

The population percentage according to the races was 74.02% white, 5.06% African Americans, 1.30% Asians, 0.56% Native Americans, and 0.12% Pacific Islander. 15.16% were from other races and the remaining people were from a combination of races.

A majority of the people in town were in between 25 and 44 years of age. The median age of the town was 31 years. For every 100 females, there were about 93.5 males. In addition to this, there were 90 males for every 100 females who were 18 years or older.
