The town of Burlington, Connecticut is a town situated in Hartford County. Burlington CT is situated at the foot of the Berkshires and borders the Farmington River. Burlington is an extremely scenic hill town, and is rural in nature. It is located 20 miles west of Hartford. Incorporated in 1806, the population of the town is 9665 as per the 2019 estimate. Burlington is home to the State of Connecticut Fish Hatchery, the Nepaug Reservoir, and the Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area. Close to half of the land in the town is owned by three public water supply companies and the State of Connecticut.
The area of the town that includes present day Bristol was initially found by the Tunxis Native American Tribe, whose spoken language was Algonquian language. The town was once a part of larger Farmington Plantation. In the year 1785, it split away and incorporated as the town of Bristol. In the year 1806, Burlington got itself separated from Bristol and then became a town in its own right.
According to the census of 2010, there were overall 9326 people, 2691 families and 3303 households living in the town.
