Fairfield, Connecticut is a rich town that is located in a county of identical name (Fairfield County). Fairfield CT borders the city of Bridgeport as well as the towns of Trumbull, Easton, Weston, and Westport.. The existing population of the town numbers nearly 60,000.

Fairfield has a total area of 31.3 square miles. It is along the Gold Coast of Connecticut and also on the shore of Long Island Sound. The Mill River flows through the town and feeds Lake Mohegan.

In 1635, the Puritans became dissatisfied with Anglican reform in the Massachusetts Bay Colony and felt the need to establish their own ecclesiastical society. The Massachusetts General Court allowed them to settle in what is now Windsor, Wethersfield, and Hartford, terming it Connecticut. 

On 14th January 1639, Connecticut became a self-ruling entity. By 1639, these settlers had started new towns in the surrounding areas. Fairfield was one of the two main settlements in southwestern Connecticut.
