Groton, Connecticut is a town in New London County which is located on the River Thames. It is the home of General Dynamics Electric Boat, which happens to be the major contractor for submarine work for the United States Navy. Groton CT was established in 1705 and was separated from the town of New London, Connecticut. The town gets its name from Groton, Suffolk in England.
