Seymour, Connecticut is a town in the United States. Seymour CT ias located in the western section of New Haven County. The town has Ansonia and Derby at the southeast, Beacon Falls at the north, Woodbridge at the east and Shelton and Oxford to west. 

There are some current parts of the town was previously part of the town of Derby. The downtown portion of the region was initially named as Humphreysville. In 1836, this region was incorporated inside Derby by the General Assembly.

Seymour was incorporated in 1850 and named after Governor Thomas H. Seymour. After the formation of Seymour, the government of Humphreysville was disincorporated.

The company was first located at the Great Hill Road, hence its name as The Great Hill Hose Company.
