Trumbull, Connecticut is a town located in Fairfield County. The cities of Bridgeport and Shelton and the towns of Stratford, Fairfield, Easton and Monroe are all bordered by it. According to the 2010 census, the population was 36,018. 

Trumbull was the home of the Golden Hill Paugussett Indian Nation and was named after Jonathan Trumbull (1710–1785), a merchant, patriot, and statesman. The town of Trumbull was incorporated in 1797. 

The Pequonnock River is the main river in Trumbull which has its origin in the northwest of Old Mine Par and continues into Beardsley Park, which is in Bridgeport. There are other major water bodies in the area, namely Pinewood Lake, Canoe Brook Lake, Tashua Hills Golf Club Pond, and the six Twin Brooks Park ponds. The minor ones happen to be Dogwood Lake, Kaatz Pond, and Frog Pond, among others.

The United States Census Bureau calculated the total area to be 23.5 square miles of which 23.3 square miles is land and 0.2 square miles. The U.S. Geological Survey in 1986 mentioned that the lowest point is approximately 40 feet above sea level at Beach Park, the highest point is the top of Monitor Hill at 615 feet above sea level, and the highest coastal point on the east coast is at 615 feet in Monitor Hill (Tashua Hill).
