Westport, Connecticut is situated alongside the Long Island Sound. The town of Westport CT is located about 52 miles from New York City and has a population of about 26,391 as per the U.S. Census of 2010.

On 25th April 1877, during the Revolutionary War, a strong British Army led by Major General William Tryon arrived at the Compo Beach.
